OSI 7 Layer

a. Layer 1 Phisycal
Physical level is the lowest level in the OSI. This level is related to the functions of mechanical, electrical and signal required to establish, maintain and remove the physical connection, ie the transmission medium. Examples of transmission media such as: copper cable, Coaxial cable, Fiber Optics.

b. Layer 2 Data Link
Data link layer functions to regulate the relationship between the sender and receiver such that both know each other and relate well to ensure that data submitted to place the destination in good condition. This layer also serves to indicate an error and repetition of corrupted data.

c. Layer 3 Network
Network Layer defined as switching and transmission line construction. This procedure determines the formation and elimination of the actual circuit, the exchange of data and control packets between the DTE with the central network. The function of this layer is to regulate relations end to end network, including routing and flow control.

d. Layer 4 Transport
Transport Layer serves for data transmission between nodes. Transport Layer is responsible for producing the address usage of the remote and make sure that all data packets can be accepted and no lost data packets.

e. Layer 5 Session
Session Layer functions to prepare the data transmission. Session Layer is equipped with the necessary interface to manage and support the communication between two separate locations. This layer is build session, managing sessions, mensinkronisasikanaliran data and stop the session.

f. Layer 6 Presentation
This layer defines how applications can enter the network. This layer set so that data exchanged or transmitted or end user application form can be understood by him. He interprets the data or character that flows between processes during a single session.

g. Layer 7 Application
This layer is equipped with network services, such as file transfer, terminal emulation, storage into a file server. This layer is defined by the user according to their function and supports the user in real applications. So this layer serves to provide access to the network to the user or software application.
